About me

Hi! I’m Camila, a mom and a pediatrician. I tell you I’m a mom because it shapes how I practice pediatrics: with deep respect for that little person who has their whole future ahead; for the parents who, with so much love, do their best every day for the little one who arrived to change their lives; and with the responsibility of planting a small seed of knowledge to guide that path, help in times of illness and be there for your family whenever you need me.
I did my pediatric residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (formerly Miami Children’s Hospital), one of the leading children’s hospitals in the southeastern United States. There I trained across every pediatric subspecialty with renowned specialists and cared for families from many ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
From the start, what I loved most was walking alongside families in the clinic: watching children grow and learn, helping them understand the balance between health and their surroundings, and answering all kinds of curious questions about the human body. Over my years in practice I’ve become especially interested in breastfeeding, our relationship with food, and how sleep and sleep disorders affect health, so I’ve pursued further training in these areas.
Outside the clinic, I love being a mom (to humans and a dog); time with my family, doing anything at all, is my number one hobby. I also love painting, especially birds in watercolor, and embroidery, crochet, knitting… anything with a needle and thread makes me happy. Too little time, too many unfinished projects.
This is a small piece of who I am; the rest doesn’t fit on paper. Let’s meet, and together we’ll help your little one (or not-so-little one) discover who they will become.
